Appreciations Template
Developing Appreciations identifies the qualities and characteristics that other people value and
admire about the person. Appreciations help people to recognise the person’s uniqueness and to
acknowledge and appreciate their:
- gifts – the aspects of a person’s personality and character that draw people to them, the
things that people remember about a person and what inspires people to spend more time
with them - qualities – what people admire about a person, their achievements and uniqueness
- talents – the things that the person shows an ability in, perhaps they have a natural talent?
- skills – the abilities that someone has learnt or received training or education in.
Appreciations enable people, and those around them, to recognise, and have recognised, their positive
qualities. Creating a focus on these qualities can shift the dynamic of any conversations and
interaction to a space of positivity. It can be enlightening for the person, and those around them, to
hear how they are regarded by others.
