Name: Angie Carter

Location: Wirral Merseyside

Areas Covered: National

Areas of Expertise: Supporting individuals and families to be a recognised own expert in their own lives. I’m not sure if you’d call it an expertise but my approach is to “be alongside” an individual as they look for solutions to living the life they want to lead. I am an Occupational Therapist who believes in sharing the gifts that I have i.e. my skills, knowledge and networks; and offering them as a resource, as we work together. I understand the language of health and social care and can act as translator and even professional advocate, if that is what will help. As an OT helping people find quality of life through independence is part of what I do, as is helping people to identify what their own strengths are and what works well, to help them create their own solutions.

As well as being a support broker for part of my time, I also provide consultancy services to help organisations bring new innovations to health and social care. These are always innovations that will make a difference and can transform lives. My work then comes full circle, as I also use this knowledge and these networks in my support brokerage role, to help people explore what other innovative alternatives may be out there, that reach beyond or will complement traditional service approaches. It’s about what matters to you.

Interests: I love my family, garden and enjoying time with friends whenever I get the chance.
